| CAESAR RODNEY in SCOTLAND 1997 In the Delaware State Play Festival of 1995, Caesar Rodney was awarded first prize for its presentation of Tennessee Williams' Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen starring Rebecca Morris and Brian Corey. For that honor, we were nominated, along with nearly 200 other top drama programs from throughout the country, to the American High School Theatre Festival, a part of the Fringe Festival at the Edinburgh International Festival. After an exhaustive review process, we were chosen to be one of twenty-four schools to travel to Scotland - one of only two from the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware region. With considerable fundraising and a wealth of community support, twenty-four student actors and technicians - along with six chaperones - flew from Philadelphia to London in the summer of '97 for two days of sightseeing and a Westend show, Les Miserables. Then we journeyed by train up the North Sea coast to Edinburgh for a ten-day adventure, including a trip to the "first three toes" of the Highlands, tours of Holyrood Palace and Scone Castle, the Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle, and much, much more. While there, we presented four performances of The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. The show was outstanding, the trip was a huge success, and everyone had a marvelous time. |

| If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured, or far away. - Henry David Thoreau |
